Auteg Motorsport, Nürburg, Germany (17th March 08): Auteg Motorsport today announced a partnership with RSR Nürburg to offer tourists a storage facility only 400 meters from the main entrance to the Nürburgring.
Auteg Motorsport, a British race team, have for the last two years have been competing in the VLN race series at the Nürburgring. Not only has the team been successful on the track, having won their first race and enjoyed many podiums, they have also been successful in providing Nürburgring enthusiasts with essential services.
Due to demand, Auteg Motorsport have now partnered with RSR Nürburg to provide further services and more secure car storage facilities. Auteg Motorsport have historically been recognised as a provider of motorsport related storage and workshop facilities, today Auteg have announced they now rent track cars for use on the Nürburgring. Some of the cars include a Porsche 996 GT3RS, ProSport LM3000 and a Caterham. Track car rental prices start form €375 per day.
Given Auteg Motorsport's new location, 400 meters from the track, they not only offer long stay storage but also short stay storage. Tourists either stay in a Hotel or a Guesthouse when visiting the ‘ring, Auteg is offering temporary storage for those who feel uncomfortable leaving their sports cars unsecured.
This announcement from Auteg Motorsport shortly follows the Nürburgring GmbH announcement of a €150 million investment over the next two years. This investment will be made into a Boulevard (a visitor centre), a new 4,000 m2 arena in the centre of the Boulevard, indoor theme park, a new hotel, a 5000 seat business grandstand and a Motor Sports Village.
Glen Richardson, Business Development Director of Auteg Motorsport comments on the partnership: "We've been organising storage at the Nürburgring for nearly 3 years and we felt it was time to step up our game and offer our customers a higher level of service and improved facilities. RSR Nürburg are very serious about driver training and track car rentals, in addition they are 400 meters from the track itself. We recognised their secure facility could also be used for storage too and coupled with our knowledge of the storage market we came to an agreement for the use of their facility. We also have relationships with other companies in and around the track however RSR Nürburg are now our preferred facilitators."
Jamie Martin, VLN driver and Auteg Director talks about the fascination that Nürburgring enthusiasts have about the track "The Nürburgring's Northloop, or Nordschleife as it is know locally, is open to the public as a public toll road. Since the primetime BBC show ‘Top Gear' featured the track in one of it's shows, the Brits have been driving over to the Nürburgring in the thousands. Despite the ease of access, the Nürburgring is the most challenging circuit in the world. Manufactures test their prototypes on the 22km long Nordschleife due to the varied surfaces, cambers and complex sections."
Auteg Motorsport has provided storage for nearly three years in Wimbach and is now able to store more cars in a securer facility. In addition Auteg now rent track cars. This has been made possible by the partnership with RSR Nürburg who are 400 meters (2 minutes walk) away from the track entrance. This announcement was made shortly after the Nürburgring GmbH announcement of a €150 million investment into local motorsport tourism.
