Auteg Motorsport enter the UK Golf GTi Race Series

Sprint Racing with the 750 Motor Club.

Colin, Auteg's head race engineer is never short of a surprise or two, on a recent trip to his tardis like workshop we noticed a new addition under a car cover.  After the usual mickey take of "not another project" and "are you opening a car museum" Colin put some paperwork in my hand, after closer inspection it turned out to be entry forms to the UK Golf GTi race series run by the 750 motor club.

I lifted the cover to find a very nice, small bumper, alpine white Golf GTi 16 valve, that was clearly in the middle of a serious operation!  Colin then informed me that I will be expected to pilot some of the races and of course he didn't have to get my arm very far up my back for me to agree!

This Golf race series is for pretty much standard Golf GTi's with two classes being 8 valve and 16 valve.  Apparently you get extra points if you drive your car to the circuits!  All cars have to have an MOT certificate and permitted modifications are minimal which creates very close racing.

Let the racing season begin!
